Hi There!

Hey there! I'm Charlotte, your go-to Big Day certified coach.

Currently I split my time between Calgary, Canada and London, UK. This means I can connect with and support people from all over the world as they get ready for their Big Day.

My coaching is straightforward, compassionate, and non-judgmental. It’s a space where you can say what’s on your mind without worrying about how it sounds or how it’ll be taken.

My Story

I believe that coaching is about positive change and creating new habits by acknowledging the connection between mind, body, and soul. We often focus on separating our various roles in life (at work, at home, as a parent, a partner, a friend, etc.), I believe these role are all deeply interconnected and finding satisfaction in one aspect influences the others. I help clients to find a balance between these roles, respecting the specific needs while accepting that all these roles are part of the same person.

I'm all about honesty, trust, and kindness – both in life and in my coaching. I'll always be honest with you, especially if I think something's holding you back. I do not make any decisions for you or tell you exactly what I think that something is, but I will gently challenge you to think outside the box. Trust is key in coaching. What we talk about stays between us. I don’t take a lot of notes during our sessions so I can stay present and focused. The real work starts after our session when you put your plans into action. Kindness is at the heart of my coaching. I create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without any judgment. I'll always treat you with respect and compassion, and I'll encourage you to do the same for yourself.

My journey into coaching started with getting a counseling skills certification in London. This gave me great skills in active listening and understanding people's unique stories and experiences. These skills were key in counseling, but they also set the stage for my future in coaching. As I explored helping professions more, I found myself drawn to coaching's proactive and action-focused approach. While counseling often looks at past experiences and emotions, coaching is all about setting clear goals, making action plans, and helping people achieve what they want. This focus on future possibilities and real results really clicked with my own beliefs about personal growth. I have completed an ICF-accredited coaching training program in England, which gave me a solid understanding of coaching methods, ethical guidelines, and effective coaching practices. Besides my formal training, my corporate career has also shaped my coaching style. My career gave me skills like problem-solving, building trust with clients, and communicating well in different situations. These skills have been super helpful in my coaching, as they allow me to help clients with tough challenges, find potential solutions, and develop effective strategies to reach their goals. Through a mix of formal training, work experience, and personal passion, I've built a coaching practice that's all about helping clients overcome obstacles, unlock their full potential, and create a life that matches their values and dreams.

On a personal note, I’ve also had my fair share of Big Day experience. After eloping during the pandemic, I got married twice more in two different countries (to the same fantastic partner; that was the easy part). None of it went perfectly, and I could talk all day long about family drama and guest-list politics. I took away from that experience that preparing for a Big Day is beautiful, exciting, nerve-wracking, and sometimes really lonely—often all at once. What I missed during this time was the chance to speak from the heart without worrying about sounding unsure, negative, or ungrateful. It’s not that my people aren’t kind. Still, I didn’t want to share my worries and anxieties with those who were already emotionally (and financially!) invested and excited about my Big Day. It turns out that this is something many people experience when planning a big day.

Would I do it all over again without a coach? Not a chance. With a coach? Bring on Big Day number four.
